Knowing Your Anti-oxidants

Oxidants or also called “free radicals” are cells which have been damaged and are lacking an electron due to factors which negatively impacts your health such as smoking, eating too much processed foods, and even stress. When this happens, these free radicals, oxidants then attempt to obtain their missing electron from other cells in the body which can further damage the other cells in your body. However, by consuming food or substances which contain anti-oxidants, the free radicals in your body are then able to gain back the lost electron, returning them to their original healthy state.

Unfortunately, there is no perfect means to keep your body from having free radicals especially these days that pollution and stress are common. With this in mind, it is important that you give your body a healthy supply of anti-oxidants which can be obtained from the following foods:
  • Brazil nuts, snapper, and shrimp: These batches of food provide the selenium which your body needs.
  • Sunflower seeds, hazelnut, and peanut butter: Having a healthy dose of these foods supplement your body with enough Vitamin E.
  • Papaya, Bell Pepper, and Broccoli: eating a decent amount of these vegetables helps increase Vitamin C in your body which in turn boosts your body’s immunity system. Keeping your body resistant against sickness and infection.
It is not enough exercising on a regular basis. Knowing and eating the right foods is also important and how they relate to your body function.
